Very cool T - I assume details of the inner workings of the PF are restricted!? :p

Interesting. I am still a complete NB concerning the Manoi, I have a question for you Tim. I assume the bot is R/C, is there a way to interface the transmitter with a PC via a cable? My thought was to use or design a software that could be able to monitor the environment and send controls to make the bot autonomous, the PC being the "brain" and the bot being the "muscle" to simplify

Tim

When is it coming out?

I'll let Tim give more detail, but my understanding is that it's not available in the US due to export restrictions - however, there is talk of bringing it here at some point in the future, once they've translated the software (currently only available in Japanese) and made it a little more RTR/user friendly (currently requires extensive adjustments to keep it running etc.). :)

This came in very handy when we were assembling some of the first brackets and accidentally reversed one of the parts. Zooming in on the manual drawing immediately showed us where we had gotten off track. The battery box is decent but the little critter runs on AAAs, not a problem as I do own some Mini-Zs and NiMh AAA batteries are a plenty. The 27MHz RX is quite big, this is a bonus because I will replace it with something smaller in 40MHz FM and this will leave ample room for a small failsafe unit

The good news is that our mistakes have been very easy to discover by comparing our work to the detailed exploded views in the robot's assembly manual. The worst case, which was actually pretty minor, involved disassembly back a few steps in the process and then putting the parts back together the correct way around.

As we reported in the last Project M post, by very late Sunday evening, we had successfully (we thought) assembled the robot's two arms, shoulders, head and power switch mounting bracket, plus the two feet/sole units.
