Are there any difference how Google ranks external and internal links.
Also with the anchor text, does Google put more weight on anchor text from external sites than internal.
I am wondering if I need to get bunch of sites to link to me, or if it is enough to build big, huge, tremendous site.

External links are commonly looked apon as more important than your own links, as the commonly that they are there suggests that some other website thinks your site is important abundant to link to it. Internal links are still useful to have though, as they can help you tell the web spiders what your site is about.

Internal links are that you made on your website that lead to other pages of same website. They are called internal links. And the external links point to other pages of other sites.
